Wellness Health Weight Dog Food Review

As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.

Wellness Health Weight Dog Food First Five Ingredients:

  1. Deboned Chicken
  2. Ground Barley
  3. Rice Bran
  4. Chicken Meal
  5. Ground Brown Rice

Deboned Chicken is the first ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.

Barley is the second ingredient and is of decent quality.

Rice Bran is considered to be a filler and grain fragment.

My question is.What kind food the best for my 3 years old dachshund female.
She was spay surgery 2 years ago.I feed just the Wellness food. She a little overweight and I worried about her. Please offer for me the best food.Thank You.

  2. Carolyn says:

I fed my dachshunds Science Diet for nearly 20 years. Last year, my 9 year old began having digestive problems. Tests and exams didn’t pinpoint anything. So, out of desperation, I changed him over to Wellness Healthy Weight. What a difference! His problems disappeared. I put all four of my dachshunds on Wellness and their coats are just beautiful. I read the labels of both brands and it became obvious why. It’s expensive but well worth it.

I’ve found bugs in my Wellness dry dog food twice. I’m switching brands. Their customer service could have cared less when I called to complain, apparently it’s a widespread problem they have.
