Orijen 6 Fresh Fish Dog Food is considered a premium food for those dog owners who are looking for a grain free diet for their dogs. If you are looking for a brand of dog food that isn’t high in protein and contains grains, this will not be a good brand for you. As with any dog food we are going to take a look at the first five ingredients and break down each.
First five ingredients of Orijen 6 Fresh Fish Dog Food:
- Fresh salmon
- Salmon meal
- Russet potato
- Herring meal
- Fresh lake whitefish
The first and fifth ingredients, Fresh Salmon and Fresh lake whitefish are inclusive of their water content. Meaning once these ingredients are cooked and they lose their water weight they will fall further down in the ingredients list.
Salmon Meal and Herring Meal are you second and fourth ingredients. These ingredients are going closely resemble a dogs diet in the natural. A dogs diet should be based off the fact that dogs are carnivores and need a diet based off of meat protein.
