Normally when we see formula changes in dog food it is for the worst. In Orijen’s case, it looks like it is clearly for the better – we believe this is the best dog food kibble mass produced today. We have never seen all first five ingredients of a dog food being a named meat. We highly recommend this dog food.

Orijen 6 Fish Ingredient Analysis

  1. Fresh boneless salmonorijen 6 fish dog food
  2. Salmon meal
  3. Herring meal
  4. Fresh boneless herring
  5. Fresh boneless walleye

All of these ingredients are outstanding. These ingredients all contain large amounts of Omega’s and this food would be very good for a dogs skin and coat.

I really can not say enough about how good this dog food is. Tony has never been able to eat fish until this came out. Yes, it is spendy, but I mix it in with the regular Orijen and only feed the Orijen at night. I feed TOTW in the AM making it a little easier on the pocket book. Tony’s coat is just unbelievably soft for a German Shepherd. Now,it is very pungent food and when you open a bag you can really smell it. So be ready, because it comes out the same way, LOL !

Have to say I was skeptical after trying a few other gourmet dog foods, but this stuff is the real deal. Our puggle had terrible food allergies to everything (scratching) and we had went to making her people food (green beans, meat, sweet potatoes, etc.). This helped, but was hard to manage, especailly when traveling. After ~6 weeks on Orijen, the scratching and carpet rolling went away. Fortunately we have a small dog, as feeding this to a large breed would get expensive. I can’t claim a direct correlation here, but the yellow spots in our yard have also gone away / are much less distinct with this food as well.

Nothing better than Orijen, if your dog can handle it. Sometimes it’s a touch too rich. One of my 5 dogs couldn’t tolerate the high protein, but then, I think it was the old formula.
