I appreciate the use of chicken liver in the food. However, the first few ingredients are fairly grain-heavy since chicken meal is not further up on the list. Perhaps its combination with organic chicken after it’s been dehydrated at least makes it even. However since that is unknown for sure, I would venture to guess that the meat content is fairly light in this food.
Hello
As a Nutritionist/Naturopath I am concerned about what my beautiful German Shepard Hektor eats. Merrick is wonderful not only because of the grade of food Merrick incorporates into each meal, but that it is good for dogs with allergies. Hektor, my 142 pound Black/Silver male German Shepard (3 years old) gets Buffalo, duck, Venison and is not subject to the beef and chicken that is so processed today and also a contributing factor for allergies.
He (Hektor) is a low=key obedient dog and would be great for Commercials. He is not only very tall, but beautiful with soft shiny coat and draws a crowd wherever we go.

I just tried your senior Merrik brand for my Lab/collie dog. It is taking some time for her to adjust to the taste. I have to mix mightydog canned food for her to eat this. She also was brought up on ALPO. But I hope she will adjust to this new healthy brand since she is about 10 years old. I want her to live a long healthy life and get off the junk food.
