Innova Low Fat Adult Dry Dog Food Review
As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.
Innova Low Fat Adult Dry Dog Food First Five Ingredients:
- Turkey
- Chicken
- Barley
- Brown Rice
- Potatoes
Turkey is the first ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.
Chicken is the second ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient adds additional meat to go with the first ingredient.
Barley is the third ingredient and is going to be the main source of grains. Barley is a decent quality grain.
Brown Rice is the fourth ingredient and is a decent quality grain that adds additional protein and carbohydrates to your dog’s food.
Potatoes are the fifth ingredient and are a decent source of carbohydrates.

Hi,
Thanks for the site! Great info. I have a 2 year old mini-dachshund who packs on the weight and unfortunately I have few problems walking him anymore!
I have been feeding him the large bread Innova as I also have a 8 year old pound mix chocolate lab, so feeding them both the same is easier!
I put the Dachshund on Hills Science Weight Management program and within 30 days he lost about 1.5 pounds down to just about 12 lbs. He looked great, he is a pudgy all muscle – well mostly. Anyway I put him back on the Innova and within 30 days he put the weight right back on even after cutting back on the amount I feed him.
I love the Innova product so I think I will try the small breed Innova lite and see how he does on that. Any comments regarding thoughts or actual experience with the Science Diet Weight loss program for small breeds.
Thanks,
Richard
