Halo Spots Stew Adult Wild Salmon Dog Food Review

As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.

First Five Ingredients:

Halo Spots Stew Adult Wild Salmon Dog Food First Five Ingredients:

  1. Salmon
  2. Whole Dried Eggs
  3. Pea Protein
  4. Oats
  5. Vegetable Broth

Salmon is the first ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.

The second ingredient Whole Dried Eggs is going to provide a good portion of this recipes protein. This recipe lacks meat content and it appears that most of the protein is coming from this ingredient.

Pea protein adds to the amount of protein that is already added by the Whole Dried Eggs ingredients.

Oats are going to be this ingredients main source of grains and is of decent quality.

My dog loves this food- he pretty much inhales it. It’s unlike anything I have tried so far. It has dried veggies in it-not sure if there is any real benefit there, and it smells totally different than any other dog food. He likes it, I like the ingredient list, especially the use of whole eggs and veggie broth. It’s something different for my dogs taste and seems very beneficial. No corn or wheat, no artificial preservatives and no ground up dogs and cats, so thumbs up!!!!

I love this dog food. My sick picky dog barely eats, well he used to barely eat until I gave him this food. Now he eats so fast, almost inhaling the food. Best food ever. Who cares what it looks like it does not matter what a humans opinion of it is, only what the dogs think. Our cat tries to steal his food and our other dog would steal his food if given the chance.
