Fromm Salmon À La Veg Dog Food Review

As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.

First Five Ingredients:

Fromm Salmon À La Veg Dog Food First Five Ingredients:

  1. Salmon
  2. Salmon Meal
  3. Brown Rice
  4. Sweet Potato
  5. Pearled Barley

Salmon has high amounts of Omega’s. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.

Salmon Meal is the second ingredient and is a named meat ingredient. Dogs need a diet that is based around meat and protein that comes from meat. This ingredients adds additional meat and protein.

Potatoes are the third ingredient and is a decent sources of addition carbohydrates.

Brown Rice is the fourth ingredient and is a decent quality grain that adds additional protein and carbohydrates to your dog’s food.

Pearled Barley is the fifth ingredient. Barley is a decent quality grain. If there are grains we would prefer to see this grain over others.

After trying numerous premium dog foods throughout the years with my German Shepherds, Aussies, Blue Heelers and our first small breed house (dog), a Shih-Tzu, they not only like the best but have done the best on the Fromm products, especially the Salmon based one. A very good, digestible, stable product in my opinion.
