Fromm Puppy Gold Dog Food Review
As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.
Fromm Puppy Gold Dog Food First Five Ingredients:
- Duck
- Chicken Meal
- Chicken
- Oatmeal
- Pearled Barley
Duck is the first ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.
Chicken Meal is the second ingredient and is a named meat ingredient. Dogs need a diet that is based around meat and protein that comes from meat. This ingredient adds additional meat and protein.
Chicken is the third ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.
Oatmeal is the fourth ingredient and is a decent quality ingredient. If your dog has allergies to Oatmeal Gluten one should avoid this ingredient
Pearled Barley is the fifth ingredient. Barley is a decent quality grain. If there are grains we would prefer to see this grain over others

Review

After hours of research on dog food for my new puppy, I chose Fromm Gold Puppy. The protein is at an excellent level, outstanding ingredients that are human grade and Fromm is a very reputable manufacturer. My puppy loves it!
Why this dog food only has 5 stars is beyond me. This is a very good dog food and Fromm manufactures their own product. This really goes to show you how little people know about dog food. Their really aren’t many dog foods out here is good as this one. You have made a great choice Mark.
I feed my dog this food also and she “likes” it but she is a very picky eater. I even have a hard time making her eat her Orijen! I always need to supplement her kibble with tripe and then she’ll eat. But the Fromm is a great, high quality food and I also don’t understand the low rating.
I have a mixed breed puppy I adopted from our local animal shelter and put on Fromm Puppy Gold. I agree that it has quality protein and ingredients, is made in the Fromm family manufacturing facilities in the USA, and is priced competitively. Sophie loves it and is thriving on it. I even changed my older dog from Acana to Fromm Adult Gold to lower her protein and to save money and she is doing great too. I also think it should have a higher rating.
