Just curious ... how do you use the "like" and "thanks" buttons? I use "like" when I agree with a post or enjoy the photos/story in a post, and "thanks" when I learned something new or want to thank people for responding to a question. Does anyone use them differently?

I use it pretty much the same way.

although if i say thanks I always "like" it also because it seems the likes show up in notifications and thanks don't. Although it's entirely possible I'm missing them.

But yes, I say thanks when I learn something new.

As well as what you guys mention above, I also say 'Thanks' when I think it's a super post. 'Like' just doesn't seem enough sometimes..........

They don't show up as a notification like likes do, but thanks are also counted and recorded just below your avatar and on the main forum page you can select most thanked people here, as well as top posters, etc.

I use them the same way everyone who posted here does. Like for agreeing, etc, thanks for teaching me something new, compliments, stellar posts, answering a question I had and I, too, always like the posts I thank.

I'm bad. I forgot all about "thanks" and just use the like button. I focus my attention on the right side of the page and not the left. So 90% of the time I don't even see the thanks button.

i use likes because i like the post or sometimes i use like because i want to support or acknowledge what the poster says.

i sometimes forget to use the thanks unless i started the thread, for then i am grateful that people took the time to answer.

i kind of use 'like' for everything, including thanks.

    now i've confused myself.
