    Default sigsteria

I been sitting here like a monkey with a baseball bat for more than an hour trying to get a sig up. Ive had it and Im surprised I have the energy to post this.

Every combination of uploading my photo, resizing in PS, using links from image hosts, in the field meant for them, in the body of the post, in my eye. Sigpic tags, img tag,s url tags, someone even said it worked with < >. Insert, save, upload, preview rinse, and repeat.

Am I just a dolt or is this a death march?

    Thank you kindly

Usually... the forum will resize it automatically, or at least it does for me, if not, you can use this VSO Image Resizer, Resize Pictures, Image Converter, Photo Resizer

I've honestly never battled with it much :( sorry you've had such a hard time with it.

I'm having same problem. What is all this 'avatar' 'profile pic' and 'signature' it's all very confusing for someone like me too although as you can see left...I finally worked out how to do Avatar (I thought that was a film). I have in my settings another pic I want to put in 'signature', now is that the one that goes on the bottom as in by your signature?? anyway it is there in my settings and when I click on 'insert sig pic' nothing happens??
I'm not sure what to do.

Avatar - "graphical representation of users alter ego or character" - slightly wanky!

I dont think its a size issue, Ive Photoshopped them way below the res and file size limits to test. Ive run into this in other forums, you try it 9 times without success and the 10th try works.

For some reason, avatars almost always work without issues, its the sigs that can be a pain.

    Some background, from wikipedia
Many forums allow users to give themselves an avatar. An avatar is an image that appears beside all of a user's posts, in order to make the user more recognizable. The user may upload the image to the forum database, or may provide a link to an image on a separate website. Each forum has limits on the height, width, and data size of avatars that may be used; if the user tries to use an avatar that is too big, it may be scaled down or rejected.

Similarly, most forums allow users to define a signature (sometimes called a sig), which is a block of text, possibly with BBCode, which appears at the bottom of all of the user's posts. There is a character limit on signatures, though it may be so high that it is rarely hit. Often the forum's moderators impose manual rules on signatures to prevent them from being obnoxious (for example, being extremely long or having flashing images), and issue warnings or bans to users who break these rules. Like avatars, signatures may improve the recognizability of a poster. They may also allow the user to attach information to all of their posts, such as proclaiming support for a cause, noting facts about themselves, or quoting humorous things that have previously been said on the forum.

It should work after I make a few more adjustments.

    This works, well kinda:

[IMGee]http://mypicture.jpg[/IMGee] wrapped in sigpic tags. (ee added to keep it text for people to read)

I pasted it into the "edit signature" field. Click preview. Then the image is in "Your Current Signature Picture" and "preview" Click save and it brings me out to "Subscribed Threads with New Posts: (0) There are no subscribed threads to display in this folder for this time period." But it still is not displayed below posts. I even logged out and back in again.

When I previewed this reply, the image was there below my post.

EDIT: OMG! The only thing I didnt do was make a post after the procedure. In all other VBulletin forums Ive seen, the sig is applied to every post you ever made. I was testing it by refreshing another page with an older post on it. Duh, duh, duh. (this is just a test image)
