So the people who wanted to adopt Spaz have dropped off the face of the earth... needless to say I wouldn't hand him over now if they did turn up! Anywho, know anyone looking for a nice little sport prospect? This dude would be the perfect little agility dog and he NEEDS a job!
So he's been here what, three or four months now? So far he's been crate/house trained. Neutered/rabies vaccine. Very solid on sit and wait commands. We're work on the action for down and heel position (both sides), but I haven't added the cue yet. Also doing some focus work and leave it games. He's a lot better on leash, but not perfect yet. He's definitely getting there! He's learned great recall, knows his name really well, and has learned to spin standing on his hind legs for a treat. He settles in nicely at night and sleeps loose on the bed until morning. He's not reactive at all with me when I take him out, but is reactive to the annoying like nuisance barker laphsas across the street when my roomie walks him. He's kind of an insecure bully to other dogs, so I would recommend him be an only dog or live with a very tolerant companion. He's a little better than he was, just because Lily is really good at teaching other dogs proper manners in a kind way. He is extremely high energy and requires copious running in a day. He's getting two 30 min. walks a day and it is not enough. I would not recommend his temperament as being dog park/daycare appropriate. He's great with people though. He does jump up because my roomie encourages it, even though I keep telling her not to, but that would be really easy to fix with strict NILIF. Oh and he also knows that "out" means stay out of my kitchen and "off" means get off me now.
I think thats about it. He's a really nice little dog and would be a real find for someone looking for an agility dog or running partner. I honestly think he is a BC/toy breed mix, as his bone structure is way too fine for a mini Aussie and he acts just like a BC. He has also learned to aroo-roo-roo from Lily, lol. He is extremely affectionate as well and bonds very quickly to whomever he considers "his" person.

I am requiring a home check and basic adoption contract for his safety. I am also asking an adoption fee to put toward paying off his vetting. He comes with a collar, leash, tug toy (he loves to tug!!!!), his cone of shame, and of course all the training time I've put in. So really its kind of a sweet deal for the adopter. I probably shouldn't have taken him on financially, but I couldn't just dump him at the shelter after getting him off street because my neighbor was abusing him trying to chase him off. Sweet little dude is pretty awesome.
I am in ID, but if someone out of state checks out as far as home check and is willing to arrange transport I'm willing to go out of the area. Most important thing is to find him a good forever home as quickly as possible.![]()
I'm sorry your potential home flaked out on you. He sounds A.W.S.O.M.E for an agility home.......here's hoping you find the right person for him. Kudos for taking him on and making him into a great little guy!

I'm sorry they went into hiding as well. I just don't understand why people do this sort of thing, the least they could do is give you the courtesy of a phone call telling you they can't take the pup, for whatever reason. It's just rude leaving you in limbo like that.
I hope you do find a home soon. It certainly sounds like you've done an awesome job so far!

He is really cute. Are you a rescue? If not you could ask to be like a guest listing maybe. While I am sorry the perfect home hasn't shown up finding out peoples true colors with a minor inconvience is a lot better then finding out after they possibly adopt. Prayers sent for a goood home for Spaz.
Thanks for the support guys! No I'm not a rescue... I just didn't have it in me to dump him at the shelter after I took the little stray booger in because my neighbors were being pretty mean trying to chase him off.
He is soooooo cute!!!
Do you suppose my husband could mistake him for a Sheltie an do agility with him?!?LOL
ETA: Do you have an album or him on Facebook?(like pictures and such) If so feel free to post, or PM me, the link and I'll share it.....I have lots of friends who compete....never know who might be looking for a nice little competitor!!![]()

LOL you should trick him into it. :p
Not an actual album, but I uploaded a few pics to my "random" album. Lemme find a link... I think all my pics are private though, you might have to be my friend to see it. Your welcome to copy and share the pics I've posted here if you think passing them around would help though!
Yeah the few pics I have on fb are in this album: Facebook
So I'm taking him in to a service dog training facility for evaluation tomorrow. They are going to work with him either for the day or several days and let me know what they think about his potential. If he does have potential they will need to get funding for him to be OFA-ed for healthiness to work. Could be pretty awesome if it works out!
