    Talking Chicken Necks

    Hey guys.

Got some chicken backs from a new place last night. Didn't realize until I got them home that they also had the necks. I know we can feed turkey necks, and I can't see any real difference, but wanted to check anyway. Are the necks ok to feed to Chloe?

    Thanks as always.

Yes, necks are fine. Many people won't feed necks of they're not attached to backs because they're small enough to create a choking risk. However, if your dog is smaller AND they're attached, you're fine. I have dogs between 40 and 90 pounds and I am able to feed necks because my dogs chew their meals well.

i have given Jake chicken necks, coz he is a really good chewer. i have heard of some people not being keen on giving them though, incase their dog just swallows them whole and chokes.

when we first transitioned to raw, i could not feed necks to my pug, because he was a gulper...

so my advice to you is, know thy dog...

i can feed necks now, because he doesn't try to swallow them whole anymore....
