    Default So many questions!

So I went to the asian supermarket today and now I have so many questions!

What is so special about green...tilapia/tripe.. (Which one is it). There was SO much fish. Is there some I should stay away from?

Oxtail. Im assuming there is bone in it. Is it a good?

Chicken feet. Do most just feed as a treat or is this a meal.

    Gizzard. Muscle or organ?

    Intestines. Edible?

Or if someone gives me a website to work off of. HAHA such a Noob

    yep., that's a good website.

i don't feed intestines, although i would make sure it isn't bleached....

it's green tripe and some love it and think it's essential. some feed it because their dogs love the stinky stuff and others don't think this is where to put the money.

gizzards are muscle, richer than other muscle cuts but are not organs.

i have some coming.....i feed it when i remember to buy it, since i don't like buying it by the case.

stay away from farmed fish. tilapia is a farmed fish.
try to get oily fish, like sardines, herring, mackerel, anchovies. they are heavy in omega 3....good for dogs..nice and fatty.

oxtail bones are small. i fed them once and i didn't like the size of the bones, so now i use them to make oxtail soup.

chicken feet. excellent source of chondroitin. when i have them, i feed as part of meal or treat.

did i cover all of it :):):)

Oxtail bones are too expensive for the puppers but do make a lovely soup. Chicken feet are stickly a treat for young one and joint support for oldsters. at least for us. Most of mine adore tripe - of course. Mine don't like gizzards but love heart and lung.
