you can....my dogs don't tolerate fish oil...not all the stuff i feed them is grass fed/grass finished...mostly, but not all.
they get eggs more often and they get extra virgin coconut oil and they have emu oil and i make sure whatever i'm trimming off, i save for them...
they also eat fish about twice a week and their fur is much better.....
i will say that this winter, malia's fur dried out some....but i think the eggs more often have helped, plus adding in a little more fat.
if ever i were to try a fish oil again, it would either be krill oil or fish oil from mackerel, sardines, herring or anchovy
