Hi. My brother in law is going this weekend to bring home some pig. He and his friend get one every year (Not Wild). They cut it up themselves. My question is that is it okay to be feeding the dogs pork? I know that wild pigs are a definite NO, but this is a domesticated pig. The dogs have been on raw for awhile now and do great. They mostly get chicken and some times elk or venison, but mainly chicken. We will be getting a large portion of this meat and I want to make sure this is okay to feed the dogs regularly, alternating w/ ckicken too. I also told him to bring home organs and stuff. I am still working on trying to get red meat too, but it's really expensive for us. Also, any of their bones I should stay away from? The dogs have no problems w/ bones.
Thanks,
Nothing wrong with pork - I feed it all the time. I would love to have a whole pig!
The only part that my dogs haven't done well on, and other people say the same, are the necks. I don't know why.
