    Default Red Meat Digests Slower?

I remember someone here once saying that red meat takes longer to digest than white meat, so they feed it at night to prevent their dog from having hunger pukes.
Is there any truth/validity to this? Right now Im introducing red meat to Eevee and I only feed it in the morning, so that if she has any digestive upset I can watch her throughout the day.

Well, it seems alot denser so that makes sense. I really don't know for sure though. I know 2 oz of fish is alot more food than 2 oz of red meat.

That's true about its density. Hrm...
The reason I ask is because Im currently reducing Eevee's meals and I dont want her to be puking at night while she adjusts to the smaller portions.

Rebel had hunger pukes quite a bit at first - one thing I did was start feeding him really late, at 11 or 12 pm. He still has occasional pukes in the morning, though.

Also the experts say to feed them at different times of day - I try to do that but since my dachshund eats three times a day it's hard to vary alot.

I vary Eevee's feeding time a lot and it seems to have helped her. :) Hopefully at some point she'll be eating once a day at random times of day!

I’ve been told that red meat digests slower. Chicken and fish digest pretty quickly. If I feed Tux fish before bed, I have to partner it up with a good portion of red meat. But even with feeding the red meat before bed, he occasionally still wakes me up with a noisy stomach…..he seems very prone to bile pukes, and I can’t really feed him at different times of the day with my work schedule.

I don't think it necesarily digests slower (hell mine poop out both at the same time if they get them in one meal...), but it is higher in calories and nutritional value and will having more staying power because of that.
