    Default An interesting proposition.

My brother has started feeding PMR to Rebel, he is only on chicken right now. Soon he'll need more proteins and organs mixed in.

Well Tuesday night he asked me how much I would charge to put a meal in one bag (or container), so that way when he gets home from work he can just dump it in the bowl (he works at a hospital so sometimes works odd hours).

I don't mind doing this, but I don't know how much to ask? It really isn't that hard of work, lol.

I don't mean to sound like an a$$hole, but he's your brother. I couldn't charge a family member to help them out. :/

How about he helps you once to package and put away a bulk meat buy, and then you can thaw it out as needed and put together daily meals? When I buy 60lbs of meat, I put it away in 5 lbs chunks in ziploc containers. Then, when I start running low on one, I pull the next container out and start thawing that...

LOL - he knows I'm a broke college student and the one who offered to pay. It isn't like he asked if I would help and I said, "yeah, for a fee of such and such"

It's a freebie. Do it for the dog and your brother. It'll come back to you. :-)

Well my sister helped me out allot when I was broke by giving me jobs and work to do were she paid me. that is also what siblings do for each other. :) So if that is the case have him pay the cost of the bags, meat used for the meal and a couple extra bucks for bagging it up. Not sure how much that would be. I guess think of it like this-if youwere suddenly in demad retail wise for your dogs meals how much would you charge strangers...then charge your brother around half or less.

When i fed raw before, I used to process the meat for a girl who was too squimish to do it to feed her wiem. She would buy 100lbs of chicken quarters, I would skin it and weight it into the right meal size protions. She would buy all the meat/bags and even bought me a scale to use (she let me keep it). She would give me an extra $20 to do the 100lbs of meat, but i didnt ever expect it. I was just happy to do it for her because her poor pup did horrible on kibble. And i was glad she was feeding PMR.

I've offered to do this for my brother as long as he bought the meat/bags. But he still said no :(

I wouldnt charge him. Maybe have him help when he is able to? I would be so glad that he is makeing the switch that i would do it for free! (minus buying meat or bags)

As far as him helping - I don't think that'll happen! LOL When we were growing up, you should have seen him taking HUMAN scraps out (think stuff that had gone bad in the fridge, etc)... he had a dishtowel around his nose/mouth and was still gagging.

No. In the same town, yes. But not in the same house.

That obviously changes things. From your original post it seemed like you were charging him to help. :)

In any case, it's very nice of your brother to offer to help you out in this manner. I would say, why not let him decide how much your time and effort is worth to him and his pup? I assume you would help out anyway, and so whatever you get from him is icing on the cake.
