Noodles needs a little bone with every meal.
But if bone is put in the meal just to firm up poop, shouldn't we not count it in the daily allowance of food? Noodles needs 3-4 oz/day.. some of that is taken up by bone, so should I add the boney bits after the meat hits 3-4 oz?
Honestly, I don't measure bone at all. I just adjust the amount I feed depending on the poop.

Bone isn't just there for firming up poop. Its also calcium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, silica, iron, zinc, selenium, boron, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, and dozens of others minerals. I count the bone weight as the overall total that I feed my dog. I am no expert though.
And lets not forget the marrow.
Im not quite sure I understand what your question is.....but I just read it out loud and Brody says that if you are asking why his 6oz would include the bone as well and not 6oz PLUS the bone needed by him then he is all for it!!LOL
But what I *think* is the answer to your question is, we arent feeding for perfect stool....we are feeding for balance...and that ends up(generally) making decent stool...some times not, some times dogs need a little extra to help out....but if you think over it over all more then likely you are still feeding close to 10% bone...over a while year!![]()

Plus bone does contain calories, especially the marrow, so it's definitely counted in the daily amount!
