    Default Beef necks

I found a new supplier near me and they sell cut up beef necks. I was not sure if they were worth getting? Also do duck, por, beef necks have alot of bone?

I think it just depends, when I got some from a beef we butchered there was allot of meat and bone both. I think somewhere on here there was someone that posted pictures months ago and there were ones very different, so I guess you would have to look at them.

Ok When I pick up my order I will see if they some in their freezer to sell. The minimum is 15lb I think 2.29 a pound I did not know if it was worth it or not.

There is always a lot of bone but the amount of meat, in my experience, depends on where you get them.

Necks, especially beef and pork for the larger dogs, are DEFINITELY worth it. They may not be suitable for a meal but, I have noticed that Buck often gets rancid breath caused by meat rotting between his teeth and a chew on a neck seems to get those bits unstuck and leaves his breath odorless. They have so many nooks and crannies in them that they have to use just about every tooth they possess to get all of the meat out of the neck. Buck also gets lots of plaque right at the top of his canines since he gets lots of boneless beef heart and bone in chicken. The chicken bones don't do very much for canine tooth plaque. The necks can clean those canines right up in one chew session!

Duck necks are perfect for my boys. A bit more challenging than a chicken neck, and not quite as difficult as some turkey necks. Depends on the size of the dog, mine are 17 and 21 pounds.
