    it is for that reason that i only feed cooked salmon and only as a treat....i'm paranoid enough to stay away from it, tho others feed it without issue.

    Well I fed her one whole sardine yesterday without pre freezing, so I'll make sure to take this into action next time, but how long would it be adequate enough, to freeze them before feeding?

    Yeah I recall being paranoid by feeding a canned salmons, before I was able to beware about the poisoning from pacific salmons. Those were ready to consume however, and they were not from the pacific.

    We feed as often as possible. On average they get fish once every other week. Sometimes it is half a pound and sometimes it is their whole meal. It depends on what I can get.

    I feed fish from the Pacific Northwest (since I do live here) but the freshest fish I have fed has been frozen for years. I got a bunch from a farmer who went fishing in the early 2000s and just never ate them and they had been in his freezer the entire time. I have been buying packaged sardines since I am still in the process of finding fresh, whole fish for an affordable price.
