    Dogs get most of there energy from stored energy rather than instantly from food. It is simply because they don't eat an instantly useable energy source like us humans and glucose.

    If you think about it from a wild hunting wolf then they need to be able to cope with fasting for days and still be able to hunt after that period.

    I feed once a day with a varied time of feeding (8am - 10pm) and we have never had a problem :-)
