I read your page on raw feeding and it has peeked my interest ! I am wondering what the cost difference is ?I know this will vary widely depending on the cost of meat I can find, but what can you tell me from your personal experience. (vs something like Taste of the Wild) Thanks so much!

    Hey
I have a raw feeding client and her pup just had surgery(hernia). Her pup loves the raw diet. Should she de-bone the raw for a couple of weeks while the pup recovers from surgery?

I would feed backs in the morning and alternate between chicken quarters and turkey necks in the evening. If all goes well for a week, feed one meal of pork the next week. I only feed a pork meal every week or so even now. I like to feed Boston Butt but there are other good pork roasts to feed such as shoulder roasts or even a rack of pork ribs.

Thanks! I feel better when I have a little guide to follow!
Are turkey necks something you would feed daily? In other words next week would I do the whole week of chicken backs in the am and turkey necks in the pm, Or just do the turkey necks a few nights?
    Sorry for the questions!

I made it through the first week!! Thanks for all your help! I didnt think I could do it.
Question I wanted to ask you....My dogs have eaten chicken backs for both meals for a week now. Now you say add the chicken quarters for 1 meal and the backs for the other meal. Do I do this for a week before adding anything else? The quarters seem to be a lot more work for them.
Would something like backs in the am quarters in the pm with a neck be ok?
When would I introduce something other then chicken (beef ribs, pork?)
    Sorry for all my questions!!

hey, I am thinking about switching to a raw diet for my 3 german shepherds. I can get chicken backs for $9 a case (40 lbs.). does that sound right? local meat processor has necks and backs. Thought I would add quarters in a week or so.
