Well, she's a rescue of sorts I guess. I got her about 4 years ago from a guy that lives up in the Ocala National Forest (FL). He has lots of property and had ferel hogs rooting up his land. He became a hunter and had one Pit and a pack of Catahoulas he used as hog dogs. His original pack was getting older, so he bred one of his girls to get puppies. He picked about 3 he figured had good traits to become good hunters and just wanted to give the rest away.

My boyfriend at the time was friends with him and asked if I wanted to go look at the remaining puppies. I said sure!!! I ended up trading the guy Sonia for a 40 lbs bag of dog food and I've been in love ever since :)

I had never heard of a Catahoula until that day, but now I don't think I would own any other dog. She's so smart, energetic, and friendly.

How about yours? Did you rescue Toph and Finn?

Your catahoulas are gorgeous. Definitely have lots of leopard spots. I've been told my Sonia's pattern is called patch-work. She only has a few leopard spots under her eye and on one of her shoulders.
