Thanks, that at least gives me an idea of cost. Another question for you - I asked about doing a combination raw & kibble diet and got mixed answers on my post. Those against it stated that it would be hard on digestion but I was thinking if I am using a grain free kibble that it might be ok. Your thoughts?

Like you said, it will vary considerably. I figured out about a year ago that I'm paying something like $.77/lb for my dog's and cat's food (average of all the stuff). I haven't bought any kibble in over 8 years so I have no clue what that stuff costs. I can tell you with certainty that it will take you a few months to really get good at shopping for your dog's food. What you pay early on will in no way reflect what your eventual costs will be. Sorry I can't be more specific.
