Hi, I;m glad I find this forum. I have a 4,5 months Doberman puppy. I was looking for info about raw feeding and found you.
She has some problems with her joints, they tend to crack, I ask the vet and he just said to give her more calcium - which is little confusing to me.
I'm glad for all info and encouragement that can be found on this forum.
Thank you all
Hi there - I am partial to dobermans and she is a beautiful puppy. I don't know anything about cracking joints but maybe someone else here will - I hope you decide to feed raw, I suspect if you do it might help her joints. What food are you feeding her now?

Thank you, your support means so much for me. We started raw 3 day ago. She seems to like the chicken (she had chicken drumstick, backs and breast) and is doing fine, poop is firm. The change is that she is not hyper - which she was. Before she was on kibble. I hope that raw food will be good for her joint too.
Lisa what a nice family you have, awesome.

Hello and welcome to the forum, yes kibble is full of carbs whether it is grain carbs or fruit carbs, so once you take that away you will notice in some dogs that they will calm down. Glad you found us.

Hello and welcome!
Honestly I don't know if raw will help the popping and cracking of her joints. Considering she is so young it may be a life long issue for her. But raw most certainly will make her a healthier dog over all!
Sounds like you've done everything perfect thus far so keep up the good work!
Oh and we love puppy pictures![]()
WELCOME!!
Like Natalie said, food change may not help her join popping, but it will DEFINITELY help her over all health!!
And yes we LOVE puppy pictures!!![]()

Feeding RAW since April 2010
She is a beautiful precious little girl. Love the ears! Love the photos too. Try some chicken feet-I have only recently learned on here that they have glucosamine - I have a 12 1/2 yr old Rottie who has been on glucosamine since he was about 1 1/2 and had surgery on both elbows. Trying to prevent any joint problems. I guess the raw diet , the glucosamine and keeping his weight down worked, the stinker turned out to be a herder and still doesn't have real problems other than those brought on by his age. He still trots - in the house and in the yard :D Now, we both need to go on a diet. <lol>
