Hi my name is Denise. I have Redbone Coonhound that is prone to develop struvite crystals. The foods he has been on to date was Fromm, Hill Prescription c/d, Hill's Prescription s/d(when he has the stones and we need to dissolve them,on this food x2-4 wks only) Nature's Variety Raw. I was looking for a quality dog food that may decrease his chances of developing struvite crystals, that is why we chose Raw, but on the raw his urine ph is still running at 8. On my vets advice we tried urinary so from royal canin in can form. We tested his urine today and his urine ph is 5 on that food. I am just concerned about the quaility of the food, people don't have many good things to say regarding royal canin.......any thoughts??
