Default Hello from a new member!

    Hello,

I am a new member and, as instructed, , here is a little about myself and my dog Indigo. Indigo is a 6 yr old GSD who is the best dog in the world. Just ask him! He is happy and very healthy, though as is common with GSDs he is a little picky and sensitive about what he eats. Luckily, I have friends that are super well informed about the commercial dog food 'world' and they have helped me figure out what will work for Indy thru the years. I worked as a chef for 20 years and definitely have a 'need to feed' gene; so I was continually looking for the best stuff out there for Indy. Unfortunately, however, the high protein/high fat no carb kibbles do NOT agree with him. He has been eating VF chicken/rice and VF Turkey/rice for a few years now and has been doing great! I supplement daily with canned (100% meat types-Wysong, BG, etc), salmon oil, seaweed flakes, cottage cheese and liquid Glucosimine. No upset tummy-intestine issues. I recently learned that VF has been sold and am afraid that the formula will be changing, so I am on the hunt for a new kibble, where I found this blog. I am looking forward to reading the comments.

Hello and welcome! Being a chef for so long...have you ever considered doing a home prepared diet for Indigo?

Hello and Welcome! I fed VF at one time and my father just recently switched to another brand...Apex Pet Foods - Home.
I have not looked at the ingredients of this food but know it's a premium holistic.
