Hi everyone, I'm new to dfc and really need some help. I have a pit bull 11months old who has had food allergies since I got him at about10weeks. took him to the vet each time and he would be put on antibiotics. He has been on a food form walmart, the I believe pro plan, then natures recipe, then blue buffalo, and last toast of the wild. I believe he's allergic to chicken and possibly lamb.
I started giving him boiled rice and ground beef, but I read it's better if the meat is raw. Today I gave him boiled rice, puree veggies( celery, parsley, carrots, a couple small pieces of pumpkin, and apple cider vinegar), raw ground beef, and a couple pieces of bone with marrow. I usually give him a multivitamin as well as calcium supplement in the morning. He is also getting 3 benadryls twice a day for this last reaction.
Is there anything I should add or take out of his meals, I'm buying fish oil tomorrow for his skin?
Welcome Kaveesh!
You're not alone with the allergies! Give the raw feeding section a look. You will find tons of info about feeding raw...and not veggies (I made that mistake as well)

I would HIGHLY suggest looking into Prey Model Raw(Dedicated to proper carnivore nutrition - Prey Model Raw Feeding for Dogs & Cats,) you will be AMAZED at the difference between your processed food fed dog and your raw fed dog!!
It is AMAZING for dogs with allergies....and FAR easier then what your currently doing!LOL
Welcome to DFC, I would suggest hopping on over to the raw section here, look around, ask questions, check out the website I linked up there!!![]()

and, after you read scarlett's recommend, go out and buy some chicken backs and start slowly...i think you'll be pleased at how 'non allergic' your dog is. :)

Hello and welcome to DFC!
Just what Scarlett and Re said. Feed only raw meat and bone. Start with chicken backs at 1.5 - 2% of his body weight. No treats, no fruit, no veg, no grains, no yogurt, etc. He will detox his system which is yucky and from there you will see a huge turnaround.

I was exactly where you are before starting raw...it was a godsend...highly recommend. I did all the allergy testing, different kibbles, premade raw, homemade meals...he was continously on Temaril P. Benadryl never worked for my allergy doggies but neither did any other over counter meds. I followed the link Scarlett posted to the "T" and was a very smooth transition. Yogi has not had an allergy breakout in over 3 months...success!!!
I agree with everyone else, cut out the grains and the veg and just go with raw meat. Follow the link that Scarletto gave you and read it very carefully. It will work wonders.

The PMR diet would do wonders for your pup if he has food allergies. Just be aware that it isn't a cure-all. My dog has both processed food allergies and environmental allergies. Since switching to raw she no longer is itchy all over her body ( food allergies ) but there is nothing the raw can do for the environmental factor. She still breaks out around her eyes, and has thin hair on her underside. There are so many more benefits to the raw diet.....amazing body condition, and coat. And even though I was hopeful that Kai would completely recover from her allergies, it has only been a partial recovery....but I'll take that any day.
If you give raw a try he WILL thrive, and you will see the effects of food allergies disappear!

Allergies at 10 weeks old? I would look at vaccination reactions as well as food, enviorment and even genetic. A combonation of one or all as well.
