I was sitting here, minding my own business, playing around on the internets when Sakari, the girl hoodlum started barking and growling at the door.
They do this, sometimes, and I call them back and they stop.
Not tonight. No matter what I do, she is going to sit at that door and growl and bark.
Why?
Because there is a gator in my yard.
The bad news is, I have to take them out to pee....so I can go to bed. But we can't do that right now.
The good news is, HURRAY! She's growling and barking at a gator! Yes! Those are bad things, hate them, Sakari, HATE THEM!
Guess I'm gonna have to go outside and take care of business. In the day time I feel more confident, (I work around gators all day), at night? Meh...not really looking forward to this.
But I'm so proud of her...she's learning that gators are not fun toys. This is very, very good.
Uh, we have squirrels in our yard sometimes......
Good Sakari!!

Yay! She hates gators!!! Ugh...I don't know how you survive down there....I'd be paranoid all the time LOL
That's skeeryyy! Is it a big one?
O___O dang...I'd be flipping out. You've got true beasts down there! I saw a HUGE python being caught in Florida on TV the other day...That was freaky

It was about a 6 footer.
I talked all confident here but honestly, dealing with them at night makes me nervous cause it's hard to see. But it went well. I went outside, with my lantern and I got hissed at. Hey, pal, you're in MY yard, I'll do the hissing around here!
Since it was close to my steps I had to go back in and get the broom so I could prod it a bit to give me room to get down to the ground. It moved enough, hissed at me some more, (seriously, got some nerve, trespasser), and then I got behind it, grabbed its tail and BAM! Off it went, ticked off, across the road....right where I normally take the dogs to do their business but I'm not pushing my luck because there's a fence to the lake there and I don't need it wheeling around on me because it can't get through.
I took them out and brought them to a small strip of grass on another side of the place and they finally did their business there. I had to keep them close because if they caught wind that the gator was still out there, I would still be out there fighting with them to get them to go.
I don't know if she'll react like this if she's not behind something like the door or the fence at the pit where I work, (I took them there some months back and they reacted the same, growling, barking, hair standing up but when they met one not behind a fence or the door, (like tonight), they wanted to go up and see it, play with it. Really, their ears were perked in playful mode), but, hopefully seeing one outside THEIR home, they'll get the picture.
I was a little nervous and my heart did skip a beat or two in the beginning but what do I expect living in the Glades. It's gonna happen, sometimes.
You're, like seriously, one bad a$$ chick. You grabbed it by the TAIL!?!?! Really!!?!??!![]()
