Wow!!!!!!!!! I can really understannd why your patience is wearing thin with this though! Your the one willing to take a dog someone either, discarded thrown away, decided gee this dogs too old or this puppys too rambuncutious you know what I mean (people find LAME excuses to get rid of their dogs cats whatever)and here you say yes I want to adopt this dog and they still will not let you! Gee this is a horrible situation! Seems absolutley wrong when the resuces have willing cooperative folk (such as yourself)who want the dog and then are denied because of traveling restrictions! Which an hours drive or two hour drive is WHAT to much! My goodness we took one of our dogs driving across the country from Illinois to South Dakota! I guess we would have been quite the uncallous people to haul our pup with is as we vacationed and the dog was with us! Just dont these people think of things such as the dog will get adopted into a great home and loved unconditionally forever now! Thats a shame! These resuces are missing a great opportunity with you! Sorry again to hear this!
I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts.

I hate to say it, but we may end up going to a breeder eventually. I feel like I am two faced saying this, since I am VERY involved with rescue work, and fostering. and I have been know on many occasions to say "dont breed or buy while millions in shelters die"
    and I am considering.....
I am going to look on petfinder until August.
I'm in the exact same boat as you, I searched for 5 years for my rescue Doberman but they all had such severe issues from previous owners or too many requirements for adoption that I finally had to go to a breeder just to get a Dobe I could raise right from the get-go to fit into my lifestyle. However, a week later after bringing Peyton home, the perfect rescue Dobe showed up on craigslist and I was kicking myself for that, but oh well, I love my little girl anyway!

Long story short, keep looking! But sometimes going to a breeder isn't the worst thing in the world if no one else wants to let you adopt, what other choice do you really have?

I just watched that show yesterday, Underdog to Wonderdog, and strange they had about transporting dogs. They are people who are willing to do this with their own planes for transportation. They had a dog fly from Kentucky to New York for people (two dogs and father and son dog) And her you cant get one an hour away! So rediculous! Maybe you need that place that flys them! I can't think of what the plane was but I am sure maybe someone watched it! The two dogs were both a terrier mix and like I said flew all the way from kentucky to New York! I guess though people on that show have pull!

    yes, it was through petfinder.

pilots n paws will not help me. they only help tax exempt rescues. if the rescue who had the puppy would contact them they would fly him to me. but she isnt interested in

"stressing the puppy, and keeping him in a crate for 4 hours"
