Last thread I promise.
Oil- All oil is not created the same. Don't believe it is. Also, just because the oil has a high cost doesn't mean it is actually better than a lower priced one or what is on sell.
I personally use fully synthetic oil. I didn't always do this. But overall it has saved me a ton of money on oil changes alone. Even beyond that my car runs a few degrees cooler and I might be getting a little more mileage. I use mobil 1 and I'm thinking of trying out Royal Purple if I can get a group buy on it. It doesn't matter which of the good brands you use because all are going to be better than what most car places put in your car so that you have to return to them after 3,000 miles. Castrol GTX is good, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Armsoil, and Pensoil and the ones I know have been pretty good with small differences and prices between them.
I know most of those who are reading this don't believe me. That is fine, all I'm asking is that you give it a try. Take good oil and pair with a good filter and see if you noticed a difference. I took this challenge and haven't changed back since. It was honestly the difference of raw vs kibble. I don't use the service places anymore. Don't do it myself either. I have a friend who helps me with this and I fix whatever computer issue he might have.
My car has over 220,000 miles on it. Mom gave it to me because she thought it was about to break down. I fixed a few of the major problems on the cheap and I've been using the car for almost 5 years now.
