I rented 2 books from somewhere... and saved a TON of money!
Well, I got one of the books from them on Friday and went to check the tracking of the other (why they didn't ship them together, I'm not sure). When I checked it, it said it was damaged and unable to be shipped. I contacted them on facebook and took a screen shot of what it said the issue was, also gave them my order number.
I haven't heard anything back. Obviously I'm not really expecting much to be done on the weekend, but I would have at least liked to here that there had been some kind of progress. I asked Saturday afternoon and then asked again today, so hopefully I'll get a response soon.
I start classes tomorrow!!! So I really hope they can get it resolved ASAP... I would have thought they would send another one out, but haven't heard anything at all.
Another thing I'm aggravated at is my schools "virtual bookstore". I ordered my science book from there, as no one else sells it... it still says that the order is processing. Hasn't even shipped out yet! Ugh. Probably going to have to call or talk to them tomorrow. If they wouldn't have closed the campus bookstore, this wouldn't be an issue![]()

The world has changed in the years I've been at school.
when I started the use of a laptop was unusual now the use of a pen in unusual!!!!
virtual books are just one more thing.
Although I have a kindle I still by all my text books as there is nothing like flicking though a proper book and seeing all the diagrams and just switching from section to section!!
where did you order from?
the one year I decided to begin buying books, I used Half.com.
utter and complete garbage. I spent well over $200 and never got my books.
lesson learned on that one, and thankfully I got my money back.
but that site has a policy that you can only report so many times and get your money back (I think it is 2 or 3 occasions?) and that was my limit already.
I know it can be more expensive, but I usually just use Amazon Student Prime membership - books arrive in 2-3 days and I know they are in great condition.
also, the virtual bookstore is actually good - you can just tell the prof what it says.
that way, it's not your fault in the least and he/she can't really do too much.
plus I'm sure you aren't the only one having that problem :)
good luck in your classes!
Well finally got the situation figured out and they have shipped another one out... should be here on Thursday, one day before class. lol
My science book from my college bookstore on the other hand is a totally different story. I emailed them to ask where it was, as it says it only takes 3-7 days to ship out. It had been 10 days. I got a reply today and he said that he was "sorry for the confusion", but the book I ordered is a special/custom book and takes 2-4 weeks to ship out. SERIOUSLY?!They should have a note or something about the extra time it needs, as I would have ordered it a lot sooner.... I've already got stuff to do in that class and I can't because I don't have my freakin' book. Ugh.
I ordered from CollegeBookRenter. Didn't get reviews (stupid!) until after I ordered, they don't have very good ones... but besides this little hitch with the shipping problem, they have been okay.
I paid 46.10 for both those books, compared to the $207.11 I would have spent at my school for them.
They do have virtual books (think books for kindle, ipad, etc), but that isn't what I'm getting. My colleges bookstore went to all online, so you have to order all your books online vs going to an actual bookstore. Which kinda sucks![]()

Could you post the name and edition of the book?
