So glad we got caught in the middle of this: Get Gephardt: Who Really Owns Your Car? - Connect2Utah.com Today.....Rob went to go to work and found out his car PT Cruiser (that has current payments on) was GONE, we found out it was reposessed! I'm a little MORE than annoyed and perturbed!
I am really upset about this. I was already at work so had to drive back home (25 min) and take Rob to work, it takes about 40 minutes to get to my work from his.....joy for the gas. Anyways it's a HUGE legal battle as some employees stole files/loan # etc from the people we bought our PT Cruiser from, and they are in court, I guess they got in huge trouble for changing like 290 titles in one day (supposed to only be able to change under 20 to one name in a day). But got the court case thrown out on a technicality last week so went around repoing a whole bunch of cars this weekend. Rob's payments come out automatically every month so we KNOW they are current. The lady is trying to find us a car that we can 'buy' kind of like a trade in until she gets the PT Cruiser back in court etc. She said once she gets the court all finished we can get the PT Cruiser back, she's just doing the best she can to make it 'right' for everyone caught in the middle of this mess. It's one big huge mess and I've heard they've reposessed 200 cars....even though payments are current. So until she finds us another car looks like we will be down to one car so Rob will have to take me to work early or be late for work or something as they just switched his schedule to 8am so we both work at 8am. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish us luck! Although we do have the back seat in our basement as we took it out when I was taking Shellie to work so her crate would fit in there.
God, I can just imagine how ropable you must be. Someone's taken your car, no fault of your own and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. What a mess. I don't have any advice, I guess there's no point spending money on a lawyer as it's already in court, just a inconvenient waiting game. I wonder if they have to refund your payments for the time you are without a car.

We were told via court documents to pay the 'old' people. So that's what we did. It's just a disaster.
