Hadley....the Anita series is pretty action packed. Can get a tad raunchy, but she is one pretty tough chic....in the fiction world that is :) Ther Merry Gentry series is actually pretty good too. Found the Anita series in a hospital waiting room and fell in love w/ the writting. This style really was not my style at all, so I was shocked I actually enjoyed them.

Love all Stephen King but especially the pre-90s stuff. I read IT when I was 9, scared the s**t out of me! It's probably still my favorite along with the Shining (didn't like the movie!)

I love reading. It's hard to pick but some favs.:
Anta Blake Series: Warning: some later books go waaay beyond R and into X rated (very detailed, IMO) and some have really gory, twisted parts (serial killer kind of twisted)
Honor Harrington series by David Webber: Sci Fi "war" stories, Honor lives up to her name through torture, betrayal and heartbreak.
The In Death series by J.D. Robb: Set in the future, a homicide detective and her husband, a reformed criminal, solve murders.
These are the most recent "reads"

hmbutler--Well, I would say it means you belong in the same group of miscreants as the rest of the folks in my life who enjoy Anita Blake. Most of us began reading it because we heard the series was about a petite, gun weilding necromancer with "unique" intimate relationships. And that we should bring an "open mind"

I've always had a facination with the weird and twisted lol... for example, Hitler and Nazi Germany was the only reason I chose to do history in the final years of high school - SO interesting lol

I knew nothing of Anita Blake when I picked up the book....honestly I picked it because the cover was pretty and I had many hours to kill while my gram was having heart surgery. It had a blue butterfly on it (Obsidian Butterfly) and had no idea the book was in the middle of the series, I was confused on the connection of people and had alot of back reading to do to understand the dynamics. But worth the back track. Yes definantly a twisted mind set, but that is what keeps you reading....all the power and mystical stuff is what I find fascinating.

Oh I read Come back Como - that was a really great book. Made me cry.

Also a book called Oogy, about a pit bull that was used for bait and ended up with a disfigured face. That book made me cry too.
