CORE for Seniors?

I've been feeding Wellness CORE for the past couple years or so. I switched from Canidae after the change in formula. Both of my dogs seem to be doing ok on it. However, here's my question: Is it okay for my dog who is 9 years old (large dog)? Or should I switch him to something with less protein?
I did try the Senior formula that Wellness makes at one time. He can be kind of tricky with food, and for some reason it didn't agree with him.

No, senior dogs need protein in their diet, in fact, they need good protein sources now more than ever. If you notice your dogs starts to gain weight on the Core, simply either cut back the amount you feed, give him more exercise, or start feeding the reduced fat formula.
