    our friend did this with her rescued Dane (who I don't see as poorly behaved, just not the best temperament for the city).

    It didn't do much at all, but they recommended an eCollar for her (ick) and there was no guarantee at all.

    It was super expensive and I personally don't see the results as worth the money at all. I could never send my dog to someone else for training.

    Just an update. Joey and I completed 8 weeks of basic obedience training classes together which ended with a very nice "graduation ceremony." I learned a lot and so did Joey! I'm glad I didn't send him away to be trained. Our next step is to work toward getting the CGC and Therapy Dog certifications. Thanks, everyone, for the feedback.

    Congratulations!!! The important thing is that now YOU know how to teach him behaviors. I'm sure y'all are going to have more fun together doing the CGC and TD stuff.
