    Question Nutrition Consultant?

Has anyone worked with a canine nutrition consultant for homemade diets that you thought was fantastic and easy to work with? Due to liver and pancreas issues, we have to transition our dog from raw to homemade. I've been working with Lew Olson who is super great, but curious if anyone has a more "local" person they work with.

I haven't worked with her personally, but I have heard great things about Monica Segal.

I've known Lew a long time and one thing you have to remember with her is that she is in business to sell supplements. She has a Yahoo group and a web page devoted to that. Bet she has given you advice to buy about 1/2 dozen different supplements already and bet she actually sells every one of them.

Lew and I have had some pretty heated discussions on PMR.

You can not find a person in this way because its not a ordinary or common matter. You must discuss with a vet first. He can provide you the enough qualities which you are demanding.

Steve, most vets will prescribe a kibble diet. Most are against anything outside of kibble. I think you are underestimating this forum a bit.

Steve, vets are probably the worst source of nutrition information. They greatest majority of them have no knowledge of even the basics of canine nutrition. Their one answer to to any digestive problem is a Science Diet prescription kibble which they just happen to sell and is entirely garbage.

Most vets go to food is Hills Science Diet. Such garbage. This food alone can cause health problems on top of problems the dog is already having. What's best is to feed the dog a species appropriate diet that is geared/modified towards a specific health condition if there is any.
