I wish I could remember the name of the book I read!!!!!
It said if you are not feeding raw meaty bones for one of the meals, you need to supplement their calcium with either ground eggshells or calcium carbonate. The book said 900 mg for every pound of food served. Also based on the book, twice a day, our 50 pound dog eats 8-12 oz food and our 75 pound dog eats 14-18 oz food.
Both dogs have been very happy with their new food. We have been making enough for one week at a time. Our house smells SO BAD the day we cook for them, but it's worth it.

When I make our dog food and treats, I use Organic Quinoa for the grain. That is the only grain I use in their food or treats.
It is 20% protein. I use only organic meats, veggies and fruits.

I love quinoa for myself, but one of our dogs has a grain allergy, so none for them. Great profile pix!
