Default Good Recipe for Medium/Large Dogs???

    Hi All,

I am new here but am searching for a good recipe that includes bones and butcher trimmings (I have access to a butcher who gives me the trimmings and bones from the beefs he has cut up). The thing is I would like to make it in a BIG batch because I have several large dogs and they get fed once a day. Does anyone have any good ideas or recipes? I have metal 55 gallon drums to "cook" or mix it in, too.

    Thanks!

are you going to feed this cooked or raw?

and were you planning on feeding a cooked or raw barf style that would have grains, veggies, fruits and supplements?

or raw protein, bone, and organs as in a frankenprey type of feeding?

i am a franken prey or prey model feeder and i feed my dogs raw protein/ bone/ and organ. no fruits, veggies or grains.

Wow - you are talking about a huge recipe size. I'm assuming you're talking about cooked. I've never made anything in that proportions, but I have home-cooked. You'll find tons of different opinions as to the percentage of meat and what percentages, if any, of other carbs and veggies.

What works for me: of the total amount, about 2/3 is meat; 10% veggies and the rest a choice of quinoa, sweet potatoes or oatmeal.

There is only one real recipe, mostly meat, some bone, and some organ. If you are cooking, you don't want to cook bone. You don't want to feed weight bearing bones from cows. Trimmings from a butcher are usually WAY WAY too high in fat. You will need to add some muscle meat. It doesn't have to be from cows.

It will depend on how dry they are and whats in them. I usually put mine in the refrigerator or you can freeze them, then they will last a long time.
