As with all dog food recipes the first thing we are going to look at are the first five ingredients. The first five ingredients are a good indication of the quality of the dog food. When looking at the first five ingredients you want to make sure there is plenty of meat and grains are minimal.

- Chicken Fat
Chicken is the first ingredient and is a named meat ingredient. Dogs need a diet that is based around meat and protein that comes from meat. It’s always good when the first ingredient is a named meat
Chicken Meal is the second ingredient and is a named meat ingredient. A dog’s diet needs to based on the fact that dogs need meat and protein that derives from meat.
Brown Rice is the third ingredient and is a decent quality grain that adds additional protein and carbohydrates to your dog’s food.
Barley is the fourth ingredient and is of decent quality.
Chicken Fat is going to be the main source of fat. It’s safe to say that the ingredients before this ingredient are going to make up the majority of the dog food. This is a decent quality ingredient. You want to stay away from unidentified fat sources such as, “Animal Fat”

I have been feeding Dick Van Patten’s formula for a long long time, but this new AMP formula is amazing. My female sibe would always pick at her food and barely eat, and my male sibe always loved his food. But now my male siberian actually does a dance for his food when I bring it. My female siberian gobbles up every last drop! They have tons of energy now and dont drag when I walk them.
