  1. Potatoes
  2. Duck Meal

  4. Canola Oil
  5. Potato Fiber

Potatoes are going to make up the first and fifth ingredients and are considered to be a decent quality ingredient.

Duck Meal is the second ingredient and is a named meat ingredient. A dog’s diet needs to based on the fact that dogs need meat and protein that derives from meat.

Duck is the third ingredient in this recipe. This ingredient is inclusive of its water content. Meaning that once the water is removed and this ingredients becomes a dried ingredient it will weigh significantly less, thus making it fall further in the ingredients list.

    Potato and Duck
    1. Potato=starch
    2. Duck (with processing would be in the 6th place)
    3. Potato protein (cheap replacement for a meat protein)
    4. Canola oil this is rapeseed and is toxic and cheap (it was used as an industrial lubricant, it has a cumulative effect, rancids fast and can interfer with thyroid hormone.
    5. Dicalcium phosphate A texturizer and can become toxic to the body
    6. Potato fiber a cheap filler
    7. Natural flavor greasy fat(animal digest) or MSG neither are good for nutrition or health
The minerals are proteinates +synthetic and depending on the amino acid used can also add more MSG into the diet, bad. they also use sodium selenite, the bad and potentially toxic affecting blood, liver, kidneys and muscles (selenium yeast has a huge decrease of a toxic problem associated with its use)
Basically this limited ingredient formula for animals that have allergies, may actually increase these allergies with the lg amt. of a veg product that is very difficult on their digestion, adds very little nutrition and is the main ingredient. This along with the vitamin and minerals that are added after the manufacturing process, and which the company has stated is procured from China (they refuse to state it now after this latest recall), we may be paying big bucks to starve and poison our pets with this food.
