this is off topic, but it was interesting to me to see that Ellen Degeneres is making money promoting cosmetic companies that test on animals.

You should know that the honest kitchen uses cooked (steamed) meats and fish in their raw diets. Steaming is steaming and doesn'tt leave a meat or fish raw. Also, consider that nobody checks statements of a company concerning processing methods or ingredient sources (e.g., country of origin) - EXCEPT if we're talking about a *certified* organic pet food (which the HK surely isn't at all).

Hi Jess, why don't you come over to Dog food Advisor? It's a really popular site, their are a lot of people over there that could use your expertise. Antonio even shows up on there. One thing though, you have to talk nice or they'll kick you off. Hope to see you over there! :) P.S. I post as LabsRawesome on that site. :)

Anna, I don't get the reasoning behind your post. Your dog doesn't eat this food, and he is 13yrs 7 months and 3 days old. SO WHAT? What exactly is your point?

I am also shocked that Eukanuba is rated worst on many websites. Simply because it used to have such a good reputation and even worse, MIRA dogs (Quebec special trained dogs for those with disabilities) are fed on a Eukanuba diet. That is rather concerning.

I've got to say, I didn't want to feed my dogs Kibbles n bits; I have a 17 1/2 year old border terrier mix, a 15 yr shizu/poodle + ??? mystery dog, and an 8 year old rott/hound/sheph++?? mix. The big boy has a very sensitive stomach; they were getting Blue which resulted in lowering the skin allergies for the shizu however he wouldn't eat it. I would have to mix it with anything to entice, soon my border terrier was also turning up her nose. Well throwing $2/lb dog food to the Ibis's outside was starting to get to me. Caring for my neighbor's Malamute who only eats this stuff I mixed a can in with my dogs food. Well to end a long story....they are on KnB, not because I want (my personal feelings are it's crappy dog food) but because they like it and are doing well. And heck, the longer toothed ones got whatever food I could afford back in the day and they obviously have made it to the "silver" chalice! Good luck all, and may your pets be blessed with health.

I am trying my puppy out on the Spot's Stew puppy formula. The size of the kibbe bits is very tiny and the size of the kibble bits does not appeal to my large breed puppy. He likes big sized single better. I'm now mixing canned food with the tiny bits of Spot's Stew so that he will eat it. He has a softer stool as he's getting used to his new meal and he gets 3 - 4 smaller meals instead of two big meals, also dry available all day for free snacking. I like the Halo philosophy towards dog nutrition, but would like to see a large breed puppy dry food available with larger bite sizes. Am also wondering what the size of the adult dry food bites are like. If they are also smaller, I may be switching to a brand that has a kibble with large breed pup and dog in mind.

I had my Boston Terrier on this food of two years with no problem but recently bought a fresh bag. Within a couple of days of feeding her the new bag she had terrible gas, vomiting and violent diarrhea with a few drops of blood at the end. I took her off the food for a couple of weeks with the advice from my vet and she was doing great! Then I feed her the food again and within 12 hours my dog had the same symptoms. Upon searching the internet I found a lot and I mean a lot of people with the same problems (go to consumeraffairs.com). Not sure if they changed the formula or something but I was not going to continue to risk my dogs health to find out. Now feeding her Taste of the Wild and she is doing amazing!

Angie, Michelle is correct. There's a difference between black mold and the microbe that can cause it. Furthermore, it helps coeliac disease and prevents cancer. If you do a litle more research you'll find that it's widely used to aid in digestive issues and is perfectly safe. Maybe a corrected post after you read up? *Sorry Eagle pack* lol
