Canidae Platinum dog food Review

We feel that Canidae Platinum dog food falls short of the quality of the other Canidae formulas. This formula only offers one source of meat in the first five ingredients and is relatively grain heavy.

First Five Ingredients:

Canidae Platinum dog food First Five Ingredients Analysis:

  1. Chicken meal
  2. Brown Rice
  3. White Rice
  4. rice bran
  5. Peas

Chicken meal is the first and only meat ingredient in the first five ingredients. We would like to see at least 2 named meat sources in the first five ingredients.

White Rice and Brown Rice are the second and third ingredients and provides extra carbohydrates and additional protein. Rice is a decent quality grain and is lower allergenic grain. The fourth ingredient is also of the rice family and is also of decent quality.

We feel that Canidae Lamb and Rice dog food is a little lite on the meat content and heavier on the grain content. The main source of fat is in the seventh ingredients and comes in the form of Canola Oil.
