First five ingredients of AvoDerm Natural Lamb Meal and Brown Rice Adult Dog Food:
- Lamb Meal
- Ground Whole Brown Rice
- Ground Whole Rice
- Oatmeal
- Rice Bran
The only source of quality meat and protein comes from the first ingredient, Lamb Meal. Most premium brands of dog food will have at least 2-3 named meat sources in the first five ingredients. We consider this formula very light on meat content.
The second and third ingredients (Ground Whole Brown Rice,Ground Whole Rice) are both rice. If we were to combine the total weight of these two ingredients it would probably outweigh the first ingredient, Lamb Meal, thus making rice the first true ingredient.
Rice bran is a Filler and Grain Fragment. We feel that this food would benefit from the exclusion of this ingredient. Rice Bran doesn’t offer very much to a dog nutrition dietary needs.

My Lab love this food and are doing great!!
my border collies koves this food .Iam a new breeder and first litter was very healthy and worm free
I show my Belgian Tervuren and they have consisently gorgoues coats and skin on Avoderm. Breath is good, no gas, and firm stools. Plus, they love it! In the morning I feed plain and int eh evening I add cooked lean hamburger to boost the protein and fat content. I’ve tried other premium foods but am always sorry and return to Avoderm.
The Lamb and brown rice dog food has transformed my Golden Retrievers. They have the most beautiful coates on this food. I have told everyone I know who owns a dog about this food. I’ve tried other organic foods and this is by far the best!
My German Shepherd will not eat this. I bought the Lamb and Brown Rice Adult, whether I feed plain or added meat, he will not touch this food. I am sure it is a well made food but frustrating for me because Yuri will not touch it.
My dogs have eaten Avoderm Lamb for 3-4 years if not longer. My pitbull’s mange was gone, with the help of some topical ointment, after 6 months on Avoderm and the ointment. I swear by this stuff, but it’s a little pricey.
My French Bulldog loves Avoderm Lamb & Rice. Frenchies are prone to skin allergies, and this food doesn’t cause her to have the itchy paws and tummy that he had prior to eating Avoderm. It’s great stuff & not expensive, considering the $$ I was spending at the vet’s for allergy meds.
