AvoDerm Natural Chicken Meal and Brown Rice Large Breed Adult Dog Food Review

We are concerned with the lack of meat in this ingredient. Dogs are natural carnivores and need a diet that is filled with meat.

AvoDerm Natural Chicken Meal and Brown Rice Large Breed Adult Dog Food First Five Ingredients Analysis:

  1. Chicken Meal
  2. Ground Whole Brown Rice
  3. Ground Rice
  4. Oatmeal
  5. Salmon Meal

Chicken Meal is going to be this formulas main source of Meat. Herring Meal is further in the ingredients, far enough we don’t believe it offers much benefit. Salmon meal is the second source of meat in the fifth ingredient.

Ground Whole Brown Rice is the second ingredient  in this formula. This ingredient is followed up by another rice ingredient in the second spot. Those two rice ingredients combined probably outweigh the meat content.

The fourth  ingredient Oatmeal is also a decent quality ingredient. If your dog is allergic to gluten oatmeal this ingredient should be avoided.

When we got our chocolate lab pup, Harley, at 8 weeks in 2009 he was put on a recommended diet by a vet but incurred terrible bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. We changed his diet several times over the next 6 weeks per the vet’s recommendations and still the problem continued. Our pup was actually losing weight, he was depressed, and he had no appetite. After many tests that confirmed he was a healthy dog and the vet’s inability to provide a solution I searched online for help and found another puppy owner who suffered the same problem and was recommended Avoderm. After reading the many great testimonials about Avoderm, how it was American made with all healthy ingredients, I opted to try it. Harley is now two years old, 85 lbs., and gorgeous! The improvements occurred overnight; the diarrhea ceased, his appetite increased, and he was back to being a bouncy, trouble-making puppy. Everyone noticed the instant change! I can honestly say that Avoderm saved our pup. I would recommend this wonderful product to anyone. We have learned that despite the extra cost this naturally developed dog food has eliminated all health risks and vet visits. It has also alleviated my concerns about my dog ever having an intestinal problem again. Even after nearly two years on this product Harley continues to have a glistening coat, hearty appetite and vast energy, so all those concerns about the ‘avocado’ having a negative affect over time are unnecessary. My vet has been amazed by Harley’s exceptional health and how beautiful his coat is. He has no skin conditions, yeast infections, or any of the traditional skin problems most labs incur in AZ due to our excessively dry weather. You can be assured that there are no side affects as evidenced by our dog. And we do not feed our dog any table scraps, additional supplements, or treats beyond the Avoderm cookies. Having raised Golden Retrievers in the past on the standard high cost retail dog foods and dealing with tons of intestinal issues, I can tell you that Avoderm provides 100% more healthy benefits and I wish we had opted to use it instead. We will never feed our dogs anything other than Avoderm. Another concern was when I read about the hundreds of dogs and cats that perished due to the rat poison in pet foods with by-products from China, and these were big-name products. I was stunned! I could not imagine suffering such emotional agony as these people did, and that cemented my desire to feed my dog only American made dog food without any additional foreign-made by-products. I can sleep at night knowing my dog is not going to be writhing on the floor as he bleeds to death. That is an image I could never endure. I tell everyone I meet to buy Avoderm, especially if they have a pet who is a fussy eater. Harley took to the dry Chicken Meal and Brown Rice Puppy Chow instantly, and is now on the large breed adult version which he loves just as much. I can honestly say Harley is an Avoderm dog and be darn proud of it. Kudos to Avoderm and their fabulous product! Thank you for saving my beloved dog! He would love to do a commercial for your company as a living example that Avoderm lives up to it’s name and is the best quality dog food available on the market.
